【Tsuboichi Seicha Honpo】
Founded in Sakai in 1850, at the end of the Edo period, Tsuboichi has been providing high-quality, fresh, safe, secure, and affordable tea as "tea for daily life" for over 170 years, based on the belief that "tea connects people."

Furthermore, based on the idea that tea contributes to health, we were among the first to independently research deep-steamed tea and oolong tea, gaining support not only in Sakai but also from customers nationwide.

Tsuboichi has continued to manufacture and sell tea for over 170 years, adapting to the times.

Tsuboichi's origin dates back to 1850 (Kaei 3), when Ichihei Tanimoto founded a tea wholesaler in Senshu Sakai. By the time Kobe Port opened (1868), the business had expanded to the point of establishing a branch office, and in the early Meiji period, tea was exported from Kobe Port and Yokohama Port.

It is also said that tea plantations were cultivated in the Enshu region around this time. This coincides with the period when Eiichi Shibusawa contributed to tea production and sales.

During the period of rapid economic growth, when tea consumption exploded and domestic tea production could no longer meet demand, Yozo Tanimoto, the fourth-generation head, quickly began importing Taiwanese tea.

This spearheaded the oolong tea boom in Japan. In the Heisei era, anticipating the increasing importance of food safety and security, we built a state-of-the-art factory for the industry at the time and obtained ISO certification.

Then, in February 2023, we acquired "FSSC22000," an international standard for food safety management systems. "FSSC22000" is positioned as the highest rank in food safety standards, encompassing many standards such as ISO.

It can be said that Tsuboichi's food safety system has been further strengthened to a global standard in order to continuously provide safe products to everyone.
